Click on the icons below for links to selected web sites that provide access to "real-time" or very recent data on the Sun, the solar wind, and the Earth's space environment, including the ionosphere. These data are obtained from both spacecraft and ground-based observatories. By visiting these sites, you can find out what the Sun is doing today, how strong the solar wind is, and how the Earth's magnetosphere and ionosphere/upper atmosphere are responding to solar wind.

The response of the Earth's ionosphere and upper atmosphere to disturbances originating at the Sun is the focus of an international research campaign recently conducted under the auspices of the Space Physics and Aeronomy Research Collaboratory (SPARC). The SPARC outreach site on the Web provides information about the instruments and observatories used in the campaign, access to real-time data sources, tutorials on the Sun-Earth system, and various educational activities.
